Last week I asked what do we get out of football in the UK, most seem to agree excitement. Now I'm not big on football at all ( as you know) but sometimes I tend to watch the odd game when the world cup comes round, but as soon as I see that England are playing in there normal sloppy way, I drop it like a ton of bricks. Now in fairness what little I did see last week was a more motivated team, so credit were its due.
But my main question is now, (and it could well be the one reason I dislike football) why on earth, win or lose the so called fans have to go on the rampage? London and Manchester saw again their fair share of idiots clashing with police and throwing bottles at them, and I dare say property damage as a bonus. I viewed some of the so called fans doing this, I call them fat bellied swilling larger pigs , and this is when they win a game, whats going to happen if they lose this week?? So in my view this is what we/us/I get from football.
In my youth I was an avid follower of Football, attending all my team's Home matches, a place where opposing supporters were never separated and friendliness between rival fans was the norm.
Then along came the Seventies with rampant Football Hooliganism, so I stopped going, and have never been inclined to return.
Its a puzzle to why you don't see it in any other sport, tennis, cricket, I was going to blame the booze, put I'm sure they have drinks on tap at both these and more sports, so why football?
