How often do you actually wash your duvet? Not the cover, the whole thing. I am a tidy, clean old man but can truthfully say I do not believe my duvet has ever been washed.

Am I a scuzzball?

for attention of smow - I bought this and it is unbelievably light and lovely design

I've never washed our actual duvet because (a) it's too big for the washing machine and (b) it's feather and down. Can't stand synthetic duvets.
if it is feather and down - it would never ever dry out - always buy a new one.
Am I the only person on AB who won't use a duvet? I hate the things.
lb for my own enquiry - what do you use - blankets etc
FAO LADYBIRD - left a wee question for you last night
ladybirder, I use blankets on my aged relatives' beds because they prefer them and they are so much easier to wash and dry frequently.
sorry Barry - I was asking Ladybirder.
jeepers - Barry our blankets of yesteryear were a ton. Also dad's big overcoat was ton weight too. But needs must LOL and dad worked with oil so smell of oil permeated the bedroom. We are all living in luxury now.
Hi jj. Yes I use blankets, cotton ones and a cotton bedspread.
Summer, one blanket and Winter two blankets. I get too hot with anything else.
As Barry says, so easy to change and wash and no fiddling about like with a duvet.
I'd think a lightweight duvet will dry a lot quicker than blankets. I don't have a dryer, so I hang the duvet over the banister...it's dry in a matter of hours.
Pasta mine are cotton and are practically dry when they come out of a 1400 spin.

Same as the ones i ise, dry very quickly in the tumble dryer
I fear cotton blankets would be either shredded by kitty toes...or covered in a difficult to remove layer of fur.
it was poor sister's job to make the 4 double beds every night - and it was always blankets, maybe 4 or 4 each bed, no wonder she has strong arms now unlike my puny ones. they look nice LB
They suit me jj. I love them. Trouble is my dog, little Jay, insists on getting under the covers with me. Now that's OK if he doesn't lie next to me. But sometimes he does and he's like an oven. I'm daft, I don't like to move him, so all the covers come off then:-)
I replace them and give the old one's to the RSPCA
