The Dunn family whose 19 y old was flattened by an American Diplomat, have reached a civil settlement with the Driver. She was the one who fled back to America waving her diplomatic passport. ( OK passport that had a diplomatic doo dah in it)
I suppose they have arrived at the conclusion that criminal proceedings are a non starters and to go for the moolah.
Anyone know details ?

come on come on
you are slipping into AB speak
liability and not guilt - civil courts - guilt is for criminal courts
the original diplo doo dah - 1715 - the Russian Ambassady was indicted for theft and he HAD done it !
1708 after the first Diplomatic Privileges Act - the British Plenipotenitiary knelt in front of Peter the Great proffering a gold embossed copy of the act and treaty whilst he gazed at the ground.
Family on teevee - saying they are clearing up the civil side of things. The Dunn family giving it on tee vee criminal side goes forward....I really dont see how without immunity being waived

Young bikers die all the time - often because they don't ride "defensively". The American woman was hugely at fault but the lad should have been going at such a speed that he would have seen her in front of him in time to take some avoiding action.
I think the Dunns have prolonged their period of grieving unnecessarily. If the matter had gone to court here the woman would have got maybe a driving ban & a suspended sentence which they probably wouldn't have been happy about but would have had to accept.
