I remember that Caran, and party lines :-)
As an aside how is your husband getting on with the implants?
Margo - this is on behalf of Caran as I asked the same question - here's her answer

caran - just wondered how your husband is getting on with the cochlear implant

He is doing ok with it JJ. He has to go back to the hospital every month to have it retuned as he becomes too used to it. So they make it louder for him each time.
I think though he heard better with his old hearing aids but it's too late, you can't go back.

Hope you don't mind Caran
Depends what deal you have with your supplier Caran.
Thanks JJ x
With BT, the cut-off time (for relevant calling plans) is 7pm these days, not 6pm. Anyone using their 'Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls' plan gets free calls between 7pm and 7am (and from 7pm Friday to 7am Monday) to 01, 02 or 03 numbers.

However many people will be on their 'Unlimited Anytime Calls' package, always giving them free 01, 02 and 03 calls.

Only a small minority of people still use their basic 'Pay as you go' plan, where calls are charged at the same rate at any time of day or night.
Excuse me caran………. Chris. Great news from latest results . :-)
Anyonw remember making a trunk call? If over 40 miles away you had to go via the operator. If you were in a phone box every so often the operator would come on the line and say, 'Put another shilling in the box, caller.'
[With apologies to Caran]:

Thank you, Anne. I got a letter today telling me that my next telephone consultation isn't until 28th March, so I assume that means that the consultant is happy enough with my progress ;-)
Either that Chris, or he is going on holiday ( for a long time ).
Aha! I'd not thought of that, Anne ;-)
