Almost everything seems to have something harmful in it these days (or else the ability to have something harmful in it when you cook it). For example, grilled food (especially crispy bacon) is known to have a higher rate of carcinogens than food cooked by some other methods. However if the alternative to grilling something is to cook it in something rich in saturated fats, it's hard to know which path to follow.

The thing is, while red meat is often connected with certain types of cancer, it also contains nutrients not in other foods. So you just need to be judicious about how much and how often you have it...combined with what method of preparation you choose.
