Why not say the following when you two meet up ' Before you say anything, I have the feeling we are just not as happy as we used to be together. If you are here to tell me you feel the same way and have had enough, lets just end this amicably and both get on with our lives.' If he then says he doesn't want to break off with you - and you do want to give things another chance, then simply tell him how you feel about what has been going on lately. If he really does want to hold on to you, he will agree to change things. If not, no harm done. By approaching him, as I suggested above, it takes the heat of f the situation and in a way the wind out of his sails. This way, he won't be on the defensive and, in a way, you both will have ended this relationship and nobody need to feel the looser. Hope it goes well for you.
Dump him first
Don't dump him 1st but hear him out (he might not actually want to dump you) p.s if he does..the offer still stands he he he
What happened?? Are you OK?

admarlow#? u still there?last night was so good.had the best chat ever.got everything off our chests.we were both really really honest with each other.it was fantastic
HR - well done you for being honest with him at last. Checked into this thread hoping you wouldn't be in bits this morning, lovely surprise to see you sounding happy and positive. Keep talking to him, for gods sake, keep talking. not easy if you're not used to showing your feelings, but surely worth the effort in the long run? tc xx

hi kick!thanks!actually the REAL story is a bit different as it would have been WAY too long to go into so i made a few slight modifications!we were never officially going out as i thought he didnt want that coz of the baby and all butthen i heard he went out with someone after i'd finished things and i got really mad. so we met up and talked.he said he'd have loved to have gone out with me but that he couldnt take the cance of hurting me as i was so special to him so he took a chance with someone he didnt really care that much about.its so awful to think that we COULD have gone out together if either of us just had had the balls to say it.but now the time has passed :( still, all i wanted to know was that he did care about me.and now i know he does as he said he used to be so jealous of the other lads i was with.
get with him then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i can't even though id LOVe to, coz i told him i would love to but he thinks that at this point in time he just couldn't be faithful to me.which, in my opinion is fair enough coz at least he's telling me that straight up.its better than going out with him and him doing the dirt onme all the time and hurting me way more.in an ideal world though i guess id love him to say "ok, look, give me 5 years and then ill be ready". but that just isnt life :( i could always try blackmailing him though.....!!ah no
Oh I see, well fair enough. You will just have to be good mates
Question Author
yea which will be hard as there is a shocking amount of chemistry between us!
