I was waiting for a bus in Sheffield (about 45 years ago) when a funeral director in a hearse stopped to offer me a lift into the city centre. It did occur to me then that he might be touting for business ;-)
I bet you replied, 'Hello, is it me you're looking for?'

Me and this particular undertaker are now on first term names Chris :0(
^^^That was for Bobbs.

No Barsel I replied ,Well at least I’m coming out ;0))
One of the town's undertakers has been a lifelong family friend and has buried most of my dead rellies - mum, dad, 3 aunts, 2 uncles, a couple of cousins. He does greet me whenever our paths cross but, ever the professional, if he is passing in a 'laden' hearse, he ignores me. I have 'invited' him to my funeral :-)
One local undertaker was my best friend’s boyfriend, years ago. He won’t get asked by me to bury any of my family.
Question Author
It’s a known fact you attend more funerals when you get my age, only I’d rather he hadn’t eyed me up , haha
So long as he wasn't carrying a Scythe you're still fine.
Question Author
No but he did have his top hat on ;0(
I avoid funerals now whenever possible. I don't intend to have one either. A hole in the garden will do. My family have been instructed, but I suppose it's up to them.
oh no... oh dear... bless you my child.
Question Author
Well I’m having me Wake before I go, so there !!
That's a great plan... good thinking Bobbi :-)
