....well it would be easy just to just use another PC for personal stuff but that's not the point.

Bednobs, as usual someone has gone off topic with posts that are nothing to do with the OP.
Way back in the Eighties I managed a technical support department in IT, and as soon as such a feature became plausible, I persuaded Management to provide all my staff with PCs at home to save then having to turn out in the middle of the night when they were on Standby Support Callout (having done this for many years myself, I knew how difficult it could be).

I would add however there was no way I would countenance any monitoring except for retention of journals of the recovery work for obvious reasons.
Been paged many a night and had to go in during the early days myself too.

Companies issued their own laptops for our use eventually, there was little need for making sure you were working as if you didnt fix it quick you had some very senior people from around the world on your back.

And of course there were no cameras and they weren't on the internet.
