Watched or tried to watch the remake of Vanessa Redgrave and I don't know the other actress - appalling - turned it off after about 10 minutes.

Why oh why don't they leave things alone. Bette Davis and Joan Crawford were excellent in the film.

It was because of their apparent dislike for each other that the film worked.

Yes they were reputed to have hated one another on and off screen.

Oh I know that they had a real life feud, yet when the daughter of Joan Crawford wrote the book about her mother "Mommy Dearest" in which she wrote not nice things about Joan. Bette Davis was alive at the time and stood up for Joan.

I couldn't get into the link. I personally think ok they probably disliked each other but I'm sure there were times they were friends. It's the same with Betty White saying that Bea Arthurs disliked her too. Don't believe it was that bad really.

Nothing like an old black and white Hollywood film. Remakes are never the same.
