Hi everyone, I am thinking of going for a long weekend city break in Europe in November, and was hoping for suggestions of somewhere good to go that has some nice restaurants, and some sightseeing too.
I love Naples, been there loads of times. Not too touristy, still mild/warm in November, fantastic food, too many things to do and see in a weekend, and a fantastic buzz. It's the most energetic/lively/soulful place I've ever visited, even by Italian standards, and yet there are areas of tranquility too. Oh, and as cheap as you like!
Prague is very nice, reasonably priced, has sign but can be a little cold. I went in November time and loved it there though, worth checking out, happy holidays. [edited by ABED]
If you decide for Dublin. stay at The Arlington Hotel. It has the best location that one could ever hope for, but not right on Temple Bar which is always noisy. Friendly staff especially at breakfast time. I always book with them:
Prague is beautiful, however as previously mentioned 'the beer is cheap' unfortunately like all popular cities this is no longer the case! you really have to move away from the touristy areas to get cheap drink and food.
Despite this we had a wonderful time, great resturants and walking the lanes was so romantic. We went on the pedlo's on the river and had a boat trip. They also have horse and cart rides through the city x
Edinburgh is an amazing city to live in not just to visit i've lived here all my life and still find it brilliant wouldn't change it for the world, magnificent food and drink(i recommend the Jubilee chip shop in granton) ,great pubs/clubs, even greater people to meet, always something to do and of course the best bit has to be that it has the best street in the world EATER ROAD - HOME TO THE MAGNIFICENT HIBERIAN FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!!!!! MON THE HIBEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about Vienna, city of dreams, Strauss, theatres(English Theatre), architecture, and plenty of history.
Restaurants of all cultures and tastes. From the middle of November you can probably visit the Christmas Market.
Careful with the punch, though! English website is worth a look. www.aboutvienna.org.
