Is there any ethical distinction between getting pheasant from a butcher and road-kill?

Apparently 2021 has been a Goodyear for it.

barry // I take it those of you who are against the shooting of pheasant are also against the slaughter of chickens and turkeys after being transported in a lorry.//
No Barry, Pheasants are shot for 'pleasure' and 'Sport'. Many are later thrown away. The beaters go onto the moor in a line and chase the birds into the line of guns.
I have no problem eating a pheasant shot at random on a moor and will gladly eat it. Its the 'sport' element I find hard to stomach.
