Matching Sofa And Chairs?
27 Answers
Do you feel that your lounge furniture (sofas & chairs) should all match? We have had that for years but are moving soon and getting new.
I fancy a nice sofa but chairs in a different colour as there are quite a few jazzy colours out now but MrK thinks it will look silly, but i dont think so.
What are your thoughts?

Even in the kitchen nothing matches. We have invested in new mattresses though and one new bed frame. I am told our house is very welcoming and a proper lived in home. Lived in might mean untidy though!! Our friends ran a skip hire business and never bought anything. I just love their eccentric interesting home.
I've also got a mix...modern slip covered sofa and over stuffed armchair, antique dining table, arts and crafts style dresser plus modern storage/shelves. Lots of colour in cushions and throws, oriental rugs over carpet. And plants...too many. But it's all very much ME. When I was younger, we never did matched furniture...we couldn't afford it. Second hand, auction finds gave our homes individuality ...a style I still like.
I must admit to loving cushions and throws and have quite a collection, all mismatched of course and I love a house full of sentimentalities. I also love pictures, most of them by family members or friends. And dogs and cats, live or ornamental add to what some might call clutter. And loads of books are a must. I think Ladybirder, Pasta and I could lived in complete harmony ;o)
