Strange place

Gosh, that looks sinister, doesnt it? Ive driven past it a lot, and only once saw a vehicle going in. That was an army truck, so Ive always assumed it is a military depot. Incidentally did you notice to the lower right of the frame in the ploughed field there seems to be a crop pattern consistnet with strip l;ynchets and some kind of settlement?

A colleague of mine reckons it is a store for NCB weapons and was located so that it was convenient for Greenham Common, Aldermaston and Burghfield. But why the strange layout of roads and buildings (or whatever they are)? It was obviously an airfield once because the ends of the runway can still be seen. Can this place be seen from anywhere nearby? Should I be worried?
