Here in Norfolk there is quite a lot of new house building. Some of it is not attractive like the new estate with houses too tightly packed together. Another estate though is attractive with grass areas and trees. What is it like there?.

come to London, crikey every corner is being developed, and not much by way of affordable homes, every space someone is bunging in blocks of apartments, many of which do nothing for the area.

Where?
Suffolk probably....such the competivity....unlike our bust-up over scones with those heathens from across the Tamar!
Oi!! I heard that!!!
My friends from Italy are currently house hunting in the UK (and specifically around here in Suffolk). So, as I'm their resident contact, I'm becoming something of an expert on houses around here, especially as they're concentrating their searches on new build properties.

The type of development (uniform "little boxes" or individual properties with distinctive characters) seems largely to depend upon which developer is behind the scheme. For example, the two sites where I've been to look at to see what Hopkins Homes have on offer have both got a good mix of different styles of properties, with plenty of green space around them. Whereas developments being built by the dreaded Persimmon Homes (which has an appalling reputation anyway) seem to be be far more regimented and uniform.
I'm quite surprised to read that there's any new housing in Norfolk though, William. I was under the impression that, if I could manage to get through the border controls at Diss, I'd find nothing but cave dwellers up there in those strange foreign parts ;-)
Armer Hall could be for sale shortly....scone oven and all, Pasta, this a Cornish one given the future heritage of the Duck and Duckess of Cambridge.... :-|
Chris there is so much new housing being built south of Norwich that Hethersett now joins Wymondham which is on its way to joining Attleborough which will soon be part of Thetford which by then will be a suburb of Norwich!
That's all down the A11 corridor though, Lankeela, towards Cambridgeshire.

We Suffolk folk wouldn't permit development along the A140 (which I live at the foot of) for fear of possible incursions over the border from your lot. It's bad enough that Delia lives just down the road from me; we don't need any more Norwich fans around here ;-)
You should check out the Cotswolds if you want lots of (boring) new houses. Every village around me has had or is having little cul-de-sac type developments, some more than one. Oh, and don't forget the 1,000+ houses currently being built on the local ex-airfield.
Really depressing.

Yes Buenchico. Please leave us alone, our caves are comfortable and we are happy to live quietly in our seclusion.

Tilly2. What is it like there, in the area you live in. With so much new housing needed, the builders i think will do very well out of it.
