Before he left, Cummings (very tech savvy) moped up as much electronic data as he could get his hands on. He has all the emails, texts, whatsapp posts and video feeds.
He didn’t know everything in his trove, but he knew it would be useful to him in future.
Johnson has consistently denied a party ever took place. Cummings says he has video of it. This gives Boris time to tell the truth and attempt some damage limitation.
Whether he grasps the nettle remains to be seen. Boris is wont to ignoring problems so that when they do eventually blow up, they are far more damaging than they needed to be.
Boris should come clean, take it on the chin and move on. But will he?
