St Nicholas is the patron saint of pawn brokers? Also that their symbol, the 3 gold balls are traditionally believed to be the symbol of the Medici family. There is another common belief that they represent the three bags of gold given to each of a poor man's three daughters to allow them the financial means to get married.

We have night night song, and GMEB, Today is the inauguration of TTT's "did you know?". You are witnessing history.

There are quite a few with the title Saint Nicholas.

Saint Nicholas of Myra for example.

//Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, brewers, pawnbrokers, unmarried people, and students in various cities and countries around Europe. His reputation evolved among the pious, as was common for early Christian saints, and his legendary habit of secret gift-giving gave rise to the traditional model of Santa Claus ("Saint Nick") through Sinterklaas.//

The stories behind these people are often wonderful.

Thanks Tora.
it's St Nicholas himself who's said to have given the three bags of gold, which is how he got the job.

St Clare of Assisi got her slot as patron saint of TV and computer screens because she had a vision of a Mass that was taking place soemwhere else.

I work a lot with indians and they once presented me with a small figurine of Ganesh. It turns out that he is the Hindu God of problem solvers, I was honoured and to this day Ganesh is never far away from me. In my job it was a lovely thought.
