Went Rugby training last night, got eaten alive! What do the little bu66ers leave behind that makes you itch so much? Some sort of minor infection presumably but what makes it itch??

I always thought it was gnat spit (nice!) that they gob up in order to stop your blood from clotting whilst they quaff away to their hearts content.

I could of course be wrong!
You'll find that gnats only go for short-ar$ed hairy props ! Being a lean mean back-rower,i've never had the problem.

Ha so that's it! I guess they can't catch you flankers eh? or maybe us props taste better!
Yes Boo you got it dead right, the itch is an allergic reaction to the anticoagulant they inject you with.
Try using antihistamines they work with mosquito bites but you have to take them before you're bitten. See the pharmacist for some cream to put on the bites, hope this helps.
As a matter of interest, exactly where is your club. I have found that gnats vary according to locations and would like to pin-point places most vulnerable.
