Has anyone ever ended up with the wrong drugs due to illegible handwriting? Before it was all electronic or online I couldn't make out what was written on a prescription most of the time.
Not sure if it was because of the original handwriting but I was once, following minor ear surgery, instructed to insert one paracetamol into each eye...yes eye... three times daily.
Living in Canada in the early 80s my doctor stepson would write long letters to us. We considered taking them to the pharmacist to decipher them. So thankful for email and WhatsApp now. :-)
Im sure I've mentioned this before..
My late MiL, went to pick up her prescription for a tonic, as she had been very run down for weeks. When she got home, it turned out they had given her a hair tonic! :-))
