Jury Summons

Received a letter this morning telling me i have been selected for jury service ( first timer ) at Kingston Crown Court in February (quite looking forward to it in a weird way).
Looking for any advice on what to expect or tips on how to make the time as agreeable as possible, maybe some do's & dont's based on your own experiences.

Husband was on jury duty a few years. The case was dismissed over a technical reason.

Take a book, Kindle, crossword etc.

Okay, getting the picture loud and clear.
Lots of waiting around, make sure you've got some good reading material to fill the dead time etc. Possibility i may not even see the inside of a courtroom.
Hopefully at some time during the two weeks i will find some aspects of jury service interesting, intruiging, who knows maybe even enjoyable.

as above a lot of waiting about... I have been several times.. once a nasty gruesome murder that still kind of haunts me... if you are attending High Court think seriously if you can handle extreme scenarios.. a few folk asked to be excused once the details had been outlined prior to trial commenced... on the basis they would not be able to make decisions as they would be too emotional/distressed...

After the first day, you might decide to take a cushion in.

Mind you, jury benches might have improved since the seventies. It was about as comfortable as sitting in a church pew
