At the moment i am working through the seven volumes of Spike Milligans war memoirs, they are very entertaining and read easily. What are you into right now?.

Your Neighbour's Wife by Tony Parsons - a thriller.
A re read of Clive Barker's Weaveworld

The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult - an archaeologist survives a plane crash and returns to Egypt to ... Don't know, only just started reading.
I'm on the 2nd of the 'Shetland' series of books by Ann Cleeves, 'White Nights', having read book 1, 'Raven Black' earlier. Got to say i am finding her style of writing a tad boring in parts and i quite often find myself speed-reading through some passages. The Jimmy Perez of the tv series bears scant resemblance to the character in the novels, so maybe that's why i'm a tad disappointed. I'll certainly read the book to the end, because i am intrigued as to 'whodunnit', but whether i then purchase book 3 is doubtful.
I have a Christmas gift - Joan Collins' new autobiography - waiting. Not sure how I'll get on with that. I like her but it's not the sort of thing I usually read.
carolegif; Is there any indication in the original novel that the Shaw family; Megan, Dave & children are black? & does it say what Dave does for a living?
^^ 'Stay Close'
^
You appear to be obsessed by the question of their ethnicity, Khandro. You made a point of it on the tv series thread. Why does it bother you so?
Naomi/Carolegif; "Harlen Coben signed a five year deal with Netflix. Under the deal, Coben would have 14 of his novels created as Netflix series, with him serving as producer on all of them. Stay Close follows other Coben-created Netflix originals Safe (2018), The Stranger, The Woods (both 2020), The Innocent and Gone For Good (both 2021)."
Gyles Brandreths biography "Odd Boy Out", it's an interesting read and one of those books you can hear the author reading it, if you know what I mean.
I'm watching 'Safe' at the moment, Ken. I enjoyed 'Stay Close'.
Safe is a very good watch, Naomi. I think i've watched all those mentioned apart from The Innocent? If i'm correct, i'll most likely remedy that tonight:-) I do find Coben's novels a difficult read at times but i have to say, they translate very well to tv. In the right hands, of course.
I've not read the books but I'll probably watch more of the television series.
ken //You appear to be obsessed by the question of their ethnicity, Khandro. You made a point of it on the tv series thread//

You seemed to be "obsessed" with my views on ethnicity.
A crime fiction novel a day... Just for distraction interspersed with a couple of bird guides, trying to memorize the finer points of gull identification.
Khandro, were that so, i would have commented on your remark on the tv series thread on the day you made it.
Viz Annual.
Just finished two books, one a Christmas present and the other from my reading group. Present - The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Found it a bit boring. Reading group - Clearing the Dark by Hania Allen. This book kept me turning the pages, murder mystery and so much more.
