British Gas New Rates From April

Today we have had a mail from B Gas informing us of the new rates from April, whilst I understand the cost of gas and electricity has risen I am at a loss to know why they are almost doubling the cost of the daily standing charge on the electricity meter, presumably its because they can

I was super lucky that BG hacked me off last summer (July) and I switched to a 2 year fixed deal with eon.next just before prices started to rise.
When deal runs out in August 2023 I’m in for a shock.

To be fair to them, the price cap probably means they are selling at a loss. Not surprising then if they increase other charges where they can.

I have rung them four times and have a whole sheaf of letters from them. As far as I can make out I am on the lowest tariff, but that is likely to change I expect
