Blue Tits And Crown Imperias
1 Answers
I was fascinated to learn from Gardeners World that blue tits pollinate the flowers of crown imperial lilies.
Even more fascinating, how on earth do they know what to do, considering these exotic plants, don't seem to overlap in their natural range, with our native blue tits.

They seek food wherever they can find it (e.g. fat from milk bottles). They are obviously good at sniffing out and exploiting any food sources available. The pollination is not something the birds are seeking to do, it just happens as a consequence of the birds making contact with the polen in their search for food.
