Totally agree, never really got the whole ‘Elvis’ thing, thought he was overrated. I was 12 when he died.
Film was a revelation, grinning from ear to ear for the first 20 minutes as his brand took off, gutted at how he was manipulated throughout his career, dreadfully sad and tearful at the final scene, it was heartbreaking.
Hanks is a seasoned actor so I was expecting his amazing performance, Austin Butler made me question whether I was indeed watching the real Elvis.
I went in a sceptic, came out a fan.
Mesmeric, Austin Butler was beyond comparison.
Deserves any Oscar he will hopefully receive.
