What Classical piece of music can you ‘get lost’ in?
Mine is Nabucco’s Hebrew Slaves chorus

The first track is the version we played at Lynne's funeral & has also been played by me many times since. Lynne loved trance music & one of the first tracks she showed me was the Ferry Corsten remix - Some tears, but trying to keep smiling - nice thread, Bobbisox :-)

A hauntingly beautiful aria

Was this yours Sandy? :))

Margo: Thanks for that. Wonderful.
Sing along ladies.

Don't try this at home. Recorded 1916 !!

Debussy's Clair de Lune
Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis
Elgar's Nimrod.
Here you are Tiggs.

Segovia. Sublime.

Gnossienne's gnice. The one that keeps running though my mind isn't as classical as some but the English translation' s clever. Leopold the waiter is off to be a soldier, listing the heroic deeds he'll perform while praying someone will tell him not to go.

The singer later wrote Dad's Army.

Last one off then off to bed. This is for JimF. By the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

Cheers Togo!
Shostakovich
Waltz No 2 does it every time

One of my classical favourites is Bach’s Toccato and Fugue in D minor. While surfing YouTube, I came across this version which is played with full pausing to allow resonance – something which many versions over-ride (depends on the venue as well of course, and the Berliner Dom is a fine host in this respect).

For those of us who didn't know what it meant.

I looked back at this thread thinking I had posted this lullaby from Chopin. I hadn't. Now I have. Ruth Slencznska is again incredible.
