I have been dragged (kicking and screaming) out of retirement to do a weeks painting and decorating at my brother's house. When i realised that i had promised to do the job the week of Goodwood, i was a tad miffed. Then i remembered my woeful record at the Surrey track, and i thought 'hey-ho', so be it.

Not bothering with the ITV7 - whether that holds sway throughout the week, only time will tell. I did, however, pick these 4 'hopefuls', last night;

Best of luck with those selections, Togo. Back to normal yesterday - no winners. As i said, being 'up' after 2 days of Goodwood just isn't normal; even a bit scary. Was beginning to feel like Rain Man when he believed he was about to miss an episode of his fav programme:-/

Dr Kakoush? had a runner in the last at Galway last night. Mancini, it came 3rd at 14/1.
I had a good day yesterday mainly thanks to Galway. Despite a 25/1 that wasn't mentioned. Write up said it was at the rear of midfield after the last. Finished 4th. Next race was similar, only on the flat. 14/1 wasn't mentioned but ran on at the death to be 4th again.

Nothing much yesterday but the 66/1 place helped balance the books. Don't know whether this bit of drizzle will ease the going so stayed with good ground winners in the past( some won on easier going too). Done the ITV7 again and just **** an E/W Acca, Trebles, Doubles for now. E/W single done on the first. Good Luck if you have a go.

Another blank today:-( Despite this being one of my better Goodwood festivals, i'm glad it's over and done with.

And, as per usual, after all that studying for the Goodwood races, my only winners came from a 'name' bet - Billy No Mates and Danzan - with a loser and Jack's Profit to come. Not quite in pocket (Jack's Profit will put me there in spades) but i've lost more down the back of the settee than i have today:-)

Ian Williams sent 1 again to Galway. Aqwaam won at 8/1.
Owned by Pat Kelly who's had horses with Williams for, must be, 40yrs.
I could just imagine him saying 'Find me a horse that can win at Galway' which is why the Spice housekeeping was on. ;-)
