I knew the new telescope would be great to find out more about the Universe, but it's cool to think it might help the hunt for life too!

Curiosity is a wonderful thing though, paigntonian. Where would science be without it? I would never want people to stop questioning - even if we don’t currently have the answers - and perhaps never will.

Carl Sagan — 'The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space.'
Monty Python

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
'Cause it's bug ger all down here on Earth
Very exciting. Love it.
Daft question. Are we alone in the universe? Guess what, WE DON'T KNOW.

Exactly.

It’s hardly a daft question if we don’t know the answer.
It would be a daft question if we DID know the answer.
It depends on what you mean by 'alone', I suppose. Do you mean that there might be creatures that look like humans? Or creatures that crawl around like crabs? Or maybe flying things? I'd like to know, but I'd also like to keep my distance from them, whatever they might be. Better the devil (or creature) you know, than the devil you don't.
we may not be the only living thinks in the universe but the probability is that we will never meet any others - so it really amounts to the same thing.
things
The number of planets is so unimaginably huge, it would make no sense to believe there's no life elsewhere.
infinite and beyond our comprehension, but i like the ideas gene roddenberry had, i hope so.
Me too, fender. Great stuff!
There are others, they've spotted the JWST and have started suing us under galactic privacy law !
Arthur C. Clarke...

__entity__[ Two possibilities exist either we are alone in the Universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying ]

One of my favourite quotes, if you stop to think about it.
Tech team should do some WORK when getting paid!

"Two possibilities exist either we are alone in the Universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying"
I don't believe we are alone in the universe.
I think two alien lifeforms work in AB towers disguised in Technician uniforms.
As Hamlet said “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”
Carl Sagan said if aliens came to earth, by dead reckoning there remains the risk that they would do what modern man has done everytime it encountered a new society on earth. Take from them everything we find valuable, the Incas gold. the N.American land, slaves from Africa. Etc Etc
