The risk of a catastrophic collision may have passed so I will put away the crash helmet. But I will also continue to wear my flat caps lined with aluminium. There's radiation everywhere and you can't be too careful.

You could probably pass any old bits of charred aluminium (or aluminum - other metals are available) off as part of space debris on e-bay.
