I wonder if anyone can help me? A few weeks ago when Microsoft Edge updated, I "lost" a little black rectangular icon from my task bar. I thought it was called Task Manager but that only gives me all the systems. This icon used to hold all the emails I had opened and I was able to return to them quickly. I've checked the Recycle Bin and I've deleted the last lot of updates but neither of these things worked. If I knew what the icon was called would help!

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can offer me assistance? Many thanks.

If you're definitely referring to your laptop's taskbar (at the foot of the screen), rather than to a toolbar (within the Edge window), I can't think of any reason why an update to Edge should have affected it.

However the icons on your taskbar are simply shortcuts to different programs. If you know which program you use to access your emails (such as Mail, Thunderbird or whatever), it's dead easy to put a shortcut onto the taskbar again. Simply click on the Start button, at the bottom left of your screen and go the list of programs on your computer. Scroll down to the relevant program and RIGHT-click on it. Then select More > Pin to Taskbar. Job done.

Many thanks. I can access my email account from the icon but the other one I had kept all the emails I had opened in that session for easy access to return to. I'll keep looking! Thanks again.
