I had the same problem recently, I knew I needed an antibiotic cream and my mum had some left over conjunctivitis cream so I used that and a couple of old antibiotics and it cleared up in no time. I know its not what I should have done, but to tell the truth at 39 I was a bit embarrassed to go to the doctor with an infected belly button. look online for similar antibiotic creams, oh and I also got some medicated powder from boots, I think it was by the foot stuff.
My point, ratter, is that I can't understand why people introduce the foreign body in the first place, when most people know the harm they can do. Just read the posts - the potential for harm (eg septicaemia) is enormous. And incidentally, please don't assume that I don't know what I am talking about, just because you don't agree with me. You know nothing about me, you don't know my profession, my qualifications or my experience. If you disagree with me, that is fine, and I respect your opinion - but i would never assume that you don't know what you are talking about, just because I don't share your view.
