Hi all, I could do with suggestions for famous people who've been sent to jail - the likes of Archer, Aitken, Tony Adams etc.

It was a slightly irreverent answer. Although the Tower of London, where he was taken and tortured, was certainly a jail.

But on reflection, I'll disallow that answer myself because he wasn't famous for anything other than the incident for which he was imprisoned.

And he signed his own name, both prior to and subsequent to being tortured, as "Guido Fawkes", although the second signature was, understandably, a barely-legible scrawl.
I've seen that, shammy; impressive, and not in a nice way. But the point I was really making is that being held for questioning isn't usually thought of as 'being sent to jail'.

As for his first name, it just briefly occurred to me you might have meant this fairly well known, er, guy, so I thought I'd better check:
