I have started watching this film and I don't know if I should give up or keep going.

I have no idea what is happening or who everybody is. Does it get any better? I have been watching it for 23 long minutes.

Its two and a half hours long. If you're fed up and confused now, give up. Life is too short.

Good point.

I shall return to watching YouTube videos about aeroplane disasters and true crimes.
Plenty of true crime stuff on Prime, I think. I much prefer to enjoy the fictional gory murders.
Tenet ... quite a complex movie but you're definitely smart enough, wolf63.

Sometimes when I come in late to a film or haven't been paying attention, I read the plotline on Wikipedia until I catch up with the point I'm at in the film. Here it is for Tenet:

i always read the plot before i watch a film - it's vey important to know if the dog dies. I ony consented to watch prey the other day because i'd googled if the lovely dog in that survived the film
ps i liked tenet, even though i didnt understand it :)

I have to admit that I was doing some Oxfam work on my laptop whilst watching the film on my Chromebook. I see that there is time travel involved.

I might try again tomorrow.

Bednobs, I don't get upset when people die but there was a film that I watched many years ago where a cat died. I was very upset by this. People died too - but they probably deserved it.

... Ellipsis ... 'smart' - that's the nicest thing anybody has said to me today. ☺☺
For Tenet, there're two points to help understanding it better:
*You better have some knowledge about a few topics on physics most notably Entropy & Time... Not a deep understanding required but it'd help you understand it better.
*You might not get it completely watching it once. I watch it 3 times to understand it + one more time to enjoy it without trying to understand it since it was already understood. It's because I like Nolan's movies, action movies and physics. My physics knowledge is not much so I've got to go search over related topics to understand them and understand movie.
The teneT was/is a great film, I’m glad I didn’t have a drink whist watching it though.

I decided to finish watching the film, I still have no idea what was going on.

I got totally confused with all the soldiers looking the same in their outfits. I am not very good with human faces at the best of times.

Time travel is always a confusing subject to try and understand, it sounds simple but it is very complicated.

I am glad that I finished it but, even reading the plot on wiki I have gaps (large ones) in my understanding. At least with Stargate and Star Trek, they assume that the viewer is a numpty and they explain things fully.
