Why do people purchase from discount stores?

I'm a great believer in "you get what you pay for" about the only thing I would buy at a discount store is fat balls for the birds, generally speaking the rest is a load of Tat.

I have bought really cheap duracell batteries thinking they were a safe bet, half of them were already flat and the rest didn't last before they went flat, old stock I imagine.

You get what you pay for!! so far the birds are still eating the fat balls, Result!!

I buy at discounters only if the deal is right. You have to be careful that the item is really worth having at a discount so I do tend to look for brands that are cheap. But you need to check the size, as brands are cunning and shrink their sizes to make them look cheaper. I also buy discount brands in main supermarkets as well as Aldi and Lidl. Some things I would avoid are 'made up' meat products like burgers and sauages as I think they are hard to tell if wholesome. I reckon with inflation today most peole will be lookingto make their money go further after all it is hard to avoid the increase in fuel prices. Something has to give if you are on fixed income.
