If you are getting a state pension and it is equal to or more than the amount of Carers allowance(£69.70) then you can't get it.

If the amount of State Pension means the Carer's Allowance is not payable but Pension Credit is being paid, a Carer Addition of £38.85 per week can be added to the Pension Credit.

This is because there need only be an underlying entitlement to Carer's Allowance for the Addition to be awarded.
