If you pull from under it lifts the roll away from the wall so it runs easily - if you pull from over it presses into the wall & locks up, tearing off before you have the required number of sheets (simples).

If the holder is on a tiled wall, and there is a little condensation on the tiles......(as in after a shower or bath)....then the paper would get wet by touching the tiles.
I understood that atheist...I mean now. I'd probably have reservations about using newspapers from a chip shop...who's been handling it etc etc etc. ;) ;)

HaHa... IZAL toilet rolls are like candles. There use is confined to emergencies only. They're currently stored in a dry secure place hoping never to be used again!
