I need a tablet with the facility to change the size of the keyboard. My fingers are arthritic and hit the wrong keys. My Samsung Galaxy 6 has died and cannot be raised from the dead. Not too expensive, but reliable. I am working with my little old Hudl at the moment. Doesn't let me down but keyboard is impossible.

Lots of people set up their tablets to simply dictate text. A 90-yr old friend had polio as a child and finds it difficult to do anything accurately with her fingers. I set up her iPad for dictation & she regularly uses it to dictate emails & the like. Your son should be able to do this for you quickly as well as explain some of the key points to remember when doing things this way.

Thanks for the next lot of answers, and many thanks Tuvok for your research. The problem is now, it wont even charge. I think its gone forever.

I will now look up Amazon Kindle Fire - sounds good.

Satprof. I appreciate your suggestion, but my fingers aren't that bad and would prefer to keep with typing to keep my fingers exercised. And I talk a lot of gobbledegook, so perhaps not a good idea. Well done for your Mum at her age for keeping up to date. I am now 73, but worked with computers since the ice age when they were huge machines in dust proof rooms back in the 60s, to when I retired from work at 60. I must admit I am rusty now, but at least I have a son who is an absolute wizard when it comes to modern technology. He has to be otherwise he would be out of work. But he's more interested in installing computer systems all over the place then his mother's tablet death.

I really am grateful for all your answers.

Would you be able to send me a link to your new Amazon Kindle Fire and the keyboard. Thanks in advance. x
You need to be aware of what are getting with the Amazon Fire. It uses its own operating system so doesn't have access to the Google Play store and its apps. You can sideload it, though.
The Fire is very Amazon centric and is great if you have Amazon Prime but you cannot uninstall any of the Amazon apps.
This is the latest Fire tablet Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Barry, thanks. I don't do games so no problem there. But I would like confirmation on the keyboard.
I got it on very.co.uk Amazon
All-new Fire 7 Tablet, 7 inch display, 16GB and I don't have a keyboard sorry I only just seen this post.
get a Bluetooth keyboard.
Some actually form part of a tablet case. Loads on eBay
I'm fine without the keyboard but thanks anyway.
It's not just games, Apc, do you use Google Maps, Streetview, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Photos, Google Drive, Google Earth, Google Keep or Chrome?
As for keyboard, any bluetooth keyboard should work with the tablet. I use a Logitech.
barry, how do you sideload it? I need to get some apps on daughter's that are not on amazon

Just seen new answers - thanks.

Barry. Yes I use Gmail, maps, etc. So Amazon Kindle Fire would not suffice.

Here I am struggling on the Hudl, but at least it still works!

Perhaps father Christmas will come up with something this year!
