What are you taking and does it fit in a handbag? I guess you can get away with your own snacks in a dark cinema.
I always took my own, but then Dave and I would sometimes go twice a week, no point in buying cheap tickets then waste money on overpriced goodies
I think it depends on what it is. We always take bags of sweets in and cans of pop.

my daghter has been baking all day (and using every cup/plate/knife/bowl in the house) and has produce some brookies and some biscuits
I blame TV for the craving to eat/drink and watch. Oh for the good old days when the film was the attraction, not the bingeing.
it's never been frowned upon perlease! I have never bought anything in the actual flicks, they take the peace!
It is definitely frowned upon at our local Odeon, they sell vastly overpriced sweets, drinks and snacks.
with Price of tickets you should be allowed to bring the barbie .
why cant you go without food and drink for 90mins? do you always binge on snacks at home when watching a film on the tv?
I really don't understand why people think they should be able to eat and drink at the cinema - can't they go two hours without? That and the constant chatter and use of mobile phones is the reason I stopped going to the cinema in 1998.
When I take my grandchildren I take sweets and bottles in my bag. The staff are just teenagers who aren't paid enough to ask to search anyone's bag.

When I was a kid my mum used to take a picnic - sandwiches, fruit, sweets and drinks. In those days you were there for hours - main film, B film, cartoons and Pathe news reels. You needed a meal with that lot!
I'm just happy with a bottle of drink. I do find the noise of rustling bags, crunching and munching on popcorn etc., a bit annoying. The last time I went to a cinema there was hardly anyone in there and it was a peak time viewing of the The Last Jedi.
There's a conveniently place Poundland next to our local cinema. Seems folly not to take advantage of that.
The old cinema location in my town used to have several newsagents near it and they'd sell all the same stuff at about a 3rd of the price. We used to get all our drinks popcorn etc there.
You can eat discreetly ,while in your seat .

There aren't any police food patrols
It was easier to do during The Last Jedi, you just went and sat on the dark side.
I think firering up the bbq is a step too far !!!
My local cinema charges only £4 for a ticket so I’m happy to pay over the odds for a bottle of water and some sweets.

I think they’d ask you not to take an obvious picnic in, but I’m sure they won’t check your handbag.
