I am trying to plan what I want to do with a flat that I am moving into in January.
It has to have some work done on it before I move in and then other stuff as I go along.

The whole place needs to be painted, - two bedrooms and a living room.

I want it all the same solid colour (something like Duck egg blue or lilac or purple or ...). When I find a decorator will he have colour charts or how do I find out what colour I want? I am not picky - the colour doesn't have to be exact.

Travelling to my local Wickes is almost impossible for me to do at present.

The heating is by electric storage heaters, are they bad or just not the best source of heating?

Ken, I am so far out of London that I am in a different country.☺

I would much prefer to leave any workman on his own, I work nearby. The last time that I had a workman do work on this flat he was taken in by my late very pretty girl cat. I told him that she was a bit tetchy. She bit him before he got a chance to stroke her. I did warn him, she had quite a track record.

I have been boxing up stuff all afternoon and I am tired and it is dinner time. This is just day one.

Wolf, when i said unoccupied, i meant 'empty' - void of people, pets and furniture. Can't you get it done before you move in?

I haven't finalised the purchase but my plan is to have the bathroom done and the flat painted before I start moving in.

There is a dining room table and chairs in the flat but it is otherwise empty.

I have no photo Id and this is the current obstacle.
I only viewed the flat on Sunday, the offer was in on Monday and the offer was accepted Tuesday. They thought that it might be finalised before Santa arrives.
