My cousin is in Canada now for the past 5 years, and she and her family have not been given their stay to be citizens of Canada. They actually came in as immigrants thru the US border and have since attended three court hearings, but all of them refused, given them a stay in Canada. Now they were asked to go to the border control in which they went there and they were told to fill out some forms. So my question is, do they still have a chance to be given citizenship in Canada, or will they be asked to return back to Nigeria?

On what grounds is your cousin and her family seeking the right to remain in Canada? Just as with the UK, USA and many other nations, only certain groups of people are eligible to be granted lawful immigrant status. If one or more members of the family fall into one of the categories shown here, they at least some stand some chance of being allowed to remain (but, given that they've already been refused several times, they'll need a damned good immigration lawyer to help them). Otherwise they stand no chance whatsoever:

Canada turned me (UK) down in 1972 - I've never forgiven them.

I imagine they passed through several safe countries before Canada. I suspect part of the problem is that they should have applied in the first of those.

^^^ There's absolutely nothing in philon_b's post, TTT, to suggest that the family are seeking political asylum. It seems like a normal immigration case to me.

16:28, yes but they were originally immigrants, crossing the border illegally so did they also cross into the US illegally? I'd like to know more about their path to Canada.
