Gcses For Adults

Hi all I'm 35 and don't currently have any GCSEs I want to better myself and get a good job so later today I'm off to my local collage to enrol due to working and the course times I can only do one so I'm thinking of doing on online my Question is which out of the too Maths and English would be easiest to do from home? I know none of them will be easy but I need to give it a try any advice would be great thanks all

Look for an online one that has tutorials that you need to attend.
I think both would be suitable for doing online.
I went back to college and did some A levels a few years back whilst at full time work as I found it easier to stick to when having to go everyweek.

I took a GCSE course at evening class and also sat in with a sixth form class once a week at the age of 64.

I used to teach GCSE maths. Even the most able pupils that I taught (some of whom later went on to gain first class honours degrees in the subject) frequently needed to ask lots of questions while they were actually doing the work.

Similarly while Maths was by far my own best subject at school, I very much doubt that I could have passed the GCSE exam (or O-level, as it was in those days) solely via distance learning. The presence of a teacher in the classroom was vital for me.

Therefore I reckon that your chances of getting through GCSE Maths without a tutor physically alongside you to 'hold your hand' are probably little better than zero.

Take Maths at college and study English online!

Ask your library or community centre. Our CC does selective GCSE adult courses.

To add to the rest of the responses - Good Luck with your course whichever you choose! :-) I think that English might be the easier of the two to complete online, but it just depends what you are most interested in and what you hope to go on to profession wise in the future. Unfortunately I didn't pass the assessment to get on the course it's very disheartening to be honest. It now means I will have to be put back a year! So I'm back to square one!
