Hi, can anyone suggest somewhere to travel to in Feb/Mar? We would only be going for 7 nights and would prefer somewhere hot, not too far away, somewhere lively but not full of drunk Brits (we can go into town centre on a Friday night for that)

The only guaranteed HOT place would be the Canary Isles. To escape the drunken Brits I would suggest Costa Adeje on Tenerife.
Have you considered Madeira? Pretty consistent weather all year round, definately not yobby and about the same flying time as the Canaries. If you Google "Strawberry World Madeira" it will give you lots of info on this beautiful island.
Egypt? Luxor or Aswan both fit the bill.
Depends what you mean by "hot" and what you mean by "not too far away"!! If you mean within, say, less than 3 hours' flying time you're not going to have much choice; if by "hot" you mean temperatures over 30, you're really going to be struggling! The Mediterranean (which is where most people mena by not too far away) is, like the UK a temperate zone; true, its summers are warmer and its winters milder, but Feb/Mar are still late winter/early spring, and most of the Med is cool and rainy at that time of year. If 5 or 6 hours' flying time is OK you might consider the Red Sea resorts, and if you're happy to settle for warm rather than hot (say low 20s, mid 20s if you're lucky and go at the end of your timeslot) then the Canaries or Madeira, or perhaps North Africa, would indeed be a good choice.
If you like Hotel-type holidays, I would suggest Thomson Hotel Los Gigantes, Tenerife. (Gold Hotel) Absolutely brilliant Hotel, food is fantastic . You can walk into the small town or walk down to the marina and drink in a bar.
Should be a good temperature in Feb/March.

Thanks all but I think we're going to contradict ourselves and maybe try Cuba. Has anyone been recently, is it safe etc.?
