Depends what you mean by "hot" and what you mean by "not too far away"!! If you mean within, say, less than 3 hours' flying time you're not going to have much choice; if by "hot" you mean temperatures over 30, you're really going to be struggling! The Mediterranean (which is where most people mena by not too far away) is, like the UK a temperate zone; true, its summers are warmer and its winters milder, but Feb/Mar are still late winter/early spring, and most of the Med is cool and rainy at that time of year. If 5 or 6 hours' flying time is OK you might consider the Red Sea resorts, and if you're happy to settle for warm rather than hot (say low 20s, mid 20s if you're lucky and go at the end of your timeslot) then the Canaries or Madeira, or perhaps North Africa, would indeed be a good choice.
