Given Peterborough’s political prominence in recent months, Mr S was therefore surprised to discover that Shaz Nawaz, the leader of the Labour group on the council has been giving advice on his YouTube property channel about his ‘favourite tax saving strategies’ despite his leader’s pledge to ‘clamp down on tax avoidance.’ Nawaz, a tax accountant who bills himself as ‘the profits wizard’, last week uploaded part two of his ‘Property Proficiency Workshop’ in which he explains how to ‘achieve true financial freedom’ by primarily focusing on ways to beat the taxman.

'...Police Scotland said it would not be taking action against the SNP leader.

A spokeswoman for the national force said: “We’re aware of a photograph of the First Minister... in which she was not wearing a face mask at a wake. The First Minister has acknowledged this inadvertent breach, for which she has apologised.

"We remind everyone of the requirement to wear face coverings in indoor public places for public health reasons. Police Scotland will not be taking any further action in relation to this matter."'
Why do ttt and NJ think we have a duty to pay as little tax as possible?

I'd call it sensible behaviour, but I wouldn't call it a duty.
Because it is your responsibility to look after your hard-earned as far as is legally possible. You have a duty because to pay more than you need encourages governments to be profligate (as if they need any encouragement). And governments should not be assisted in their profligacy.
/encourages governments to be profligate/

Add to that public sector organisations and quangos!
