Been submitting meter readings every month but they are still billing me based on inflated estimated readings.

If all else fails you might consider switching to Octopus. They e-mail me each month to ask for a reading and I get a free spin of the lucky wheel each month hoping to win a few quid off the bill (haven't won so far). Also so far they have been very efficient and communicative.

Get a smart meter so they use actuals
Three times now I’ve had to chase my bill.

Their reply this week that my reading I had submitted in January had been received, but not processed.

I will say that they do reply to emails pretty quick.
This is the email I wrote to

I would suggest you send them a photo of your meter. Try to include the meter number as well.
When I had problems with Eon I couldn't get anything done until I made an official complaint.

Suddenly you find senior people get involved, and they are very keen to get you to officially say your complaint is resolved.

Then you move to another supplier, because you don't feel you can trust them any more.
