I have been watching the Drama channel, and enjoying Are you being served?, Some mothers do ave em, and Last of the Summer wine all on every evening. All classics that are great to see again. Are others enjoying them too?.

Barry, there was little choice back then. Only 3 channels to choose from, I think, until 1982. Even after that, Bullseye used to get something like 12 million viewers every week. I'm only mentioning that just reflect what people watched.

I liked Rumpole of the Bailey, but nobody has mentioned that!

That was a cleverly written and well observed series, but it helped that it was written by someone who had been there and seen it all for real. Some of the medical comedies also manage to have the comedy coming from that kind of authenticity. Surgical spirit was one that I found quite funny because I felt I already knew the characters.

I liked 'The Worst Week of My Life', with Ben Miller & Sarah Alexander. Found it very funny.

Loved The Goon Show.

Funniest i heard on it was the following sketch. So simple, but it had me in stitches for about 5 mins.

A knock at the door. "Who's there?"
"It's me."
"Well come in, me."
Already laughing at this point. Then a couple of minutes later, another knock at the door.
"Who's there?"
"It's me."
"It can't be me, me's just come in."

I remember one where they were hunting for a missing piece of string - the had actually cut it in half and were looking for the middle bit. Cult listening when I was at school where my nickname was Minnie
