Connecting Memory Stick To Samsung Tablet.
9 Answers
I connected the charging cable to the tablet and used a gender changer to attach the memory stick to the larger usb end of the cable. I downloaded Google Files but the memory stick dosen't show up anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks.

So it's not clear whether or not your tablet currently clears the Android 7.0 threshold.

I followed the link and found that the operating system is 8.1, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'm coming to the conclusion that the female/female adapter may be dud. I bought it for this purpose and don't have any way to check it at the moment. I want to transfer files between my tablet and laptop and up till now I've been emailing them to myself and saving to the different device. If I connect them with a cable I can find files on the tablet from the laptop, but can't find anything on the laptop from the tablet.
Thank for the suggestions.

You shouldn't need to view files that are on your laptop from your tablet. As long as you can see both file locations on your laptop, you can use drag-&-drop (or copy-&-paste) to move files in either direction. (i.e. open two windows side-by-side on your laptop, with one showing the relevant file folder from your tablet and one showing the relevant one on your laptop. Then simply drag files from one to the other).
