Good morning - up and about already as I had to go and change a tyre....I was lucky not to be involved in anything more serious last night as heading back here, there's a long sweeping hill before the final rise into the town - halfway down there's a one-lane junction coming in for those coming up from the coast and heading east.
Anyway, the main road has three lanes, two up and one down. I come downdoing about 50 and starting to decelerate and this guy comes straight out of the side junction - and essentially, I took the inside track and in part onto the grassy/muddy verge and managed to miss him - how I'm still not sure. One tyre punctured and gone, and the plastic trim over the wheel arch came off. Two bin men helped me change the wheel out at 6.45 and I have just been back up the road and found the trim. The 'laugh' is that I have brake pads booked for today in 30 mins and I now need a tyre, unfortunately different businesses but just a mile apart. At least I am alive and kicking as it's the nearest thing to being involved in a major smash up that I have been in for years.
