.... when through a local site, and a comment I had made, I discovered the daughter of my first "real" boy friend - remembering him brought a tear to my eye. What has brought a tear to your eye when a blast from the past strikes?

Then, after one visit, she no longer contacted me in any way. Never responded to me.
Forty years later I found out it was because of my mother telling her the most awful lie about me. It was a shocking thing to say. Had I known earlier I would have finished any relationship with my mother.
I'm far from a teary person but we both filled up when, during a chance meeting, we discovered the truth. I can still see the tears in her eyes and mine for a lost friendship.
That's a cheery Saturday post! :-)

Holy Well tonight, Haz? Dragged back in.
Heading out the door to go to The Bull when a chap at the bar called me over. Now come on..he said... you can't be going. Time for another on me. No idea who he was and puzzled I explained I was heading elsewhere.
He gazed into my face and declared...Jesus! Aren't you the wrong woman I'm talking to! Off with you now!
So I offed. :-)
