wireless modem router problems?

Please can someone help me out once again.
We are still having problems getting online.
The router says it is connected.
We seem to always seem to connect to our neighbours connection.
When we do get connected to our connection,we are getting no web page.
Cannot find sever and page cannot be displayed.
I have been into all the settings what people have advised me to do and still no joy.
Also how do I get to the router settings to reset the router?
I am so fed up now after 2 weeks of trying.
Please can anyone help me out once again and suggest trying anything else.
I would be so grateful.

Desperate measures.

Reset the router to factory settings by pressing a button on the router - it is usually very small and needs a pen or similar to push it in and hold for 10 seconds.

Use the installation disk /set up disk and follow the instructions carefully.

When you are told to, disconnect the wire and see if you can access the internet wirelessly.

If so, you can reconnect to the router by wire and set your security.

many thanks for your reply.
We can't reset the router as we have would you believe it broke the disc.
So we can't reinstall it at the moment.
We have asked philips for a new one.
We could give this a try when we get the disc.
Any other ideas?

Reconnect to router by wire.

Type this in the address bar:

192.168.1.1

That should take you to the router set up. Within that you should see 'restore factory settings'.

Try that.

You shouldn't need and disc anyway. As ethel says, reset the router (small hidden button at the bottom of the router).

With both your computer and router turned off, connect them up with an ethernet cable, and turn both on. Once loaded do as ethel said and open internet explorer and type in the address bar "192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and it should load your router page. From there you should input your ISP username and password, as well as change the router's SSID (name) to something familiar to you.

If you goto philips.co.uk/support, you can find your router model and get the user manual, which will explain in more detail.

If you do manage to get broadband by the ethernet cable I would advise to try to make this a permanent connection probably by buying an extended ethernet cable. Wireless broadband has so many hangups I refuse to use it. Now my blood pressure and heart are working normally!
