have the ability to block certain ABers? Easy to say ignor them or scroll past but you have to read the post to know whether it is genuine or not, so I would prefer not to see any posts from certain people because they are almost certainly trolling imho.

what instead of answer removed it would just appear as user blocked what about the third party threads when two blocked users comment on a users threads who they havent blocked would it just be a mess how would they join conversation if the blocked user was involved they wouldnt be able to

roadman, lankeela is suggesting posters be able to block other members individually, so the blocked posters would appear for everyone else - just not for the member who blocked them.

personally, i have been on fora where you can block posters and therefore not see their posts, however i found it didnt work - i was then curious about what they'd said!
I think a much better idea is to have it as a punishment for suspendered posters - ie they can see all their posts but no-one else can, and they start to wonder why no-one is answering them

Maybe, also, an organisation that's passing the hat may not have the resources to install fancy schmancy IT solutions.

Agree with bednobs, I have been on other forums with the 'mute this person' facility and it irritated me because of course I could see other users responses and had no idea what they were talking about.

It is easy enough to ignore any users threads entirely and I've learned to skip over certain users posts in other users threads. My blood can only take so much boiling
