i've been bought a garlic string? (loads of garlic in a bunch/string).it smells as if its smoked.is this possible,if so how do i store it,can i use it like normal garlic and how long will it keep?

Not sure about the smoky smell, but garlic stays fresh for up to a month. If you want to store it -since you've bought so much- you could put it in the blender and make a paste and then put it away in the freezer, but mind you, your freezer may start to smell a little from there on...

You can buy smoked garlic - when I bought some it was quite expensive - I didn't like it either !!!

smoked garlic is fairly common in france,I have bought it before in my local sainsburys use it to flavour anything you want.
