Shampoo Bar

does anyone use bar shampoo? where do you keep it in between showers? does it get all claggy like bars of soap?

Mine is on my shower rack & yes it gets craggy. I keep it in a soap dish.
The soap is very soft & I'm constantly reminding him it is not ordinary soap!!!

I've got two antique china soap dishes with lids. Holes in dish and a matching saucer underneath to catch the drips. Trouble is you can't use them on modern sinks or showers. They are rather large.

And Anne, I have a couple of plastic soap boxes from my travelling days.

I bought a shampoo bar and used it only once. It made my hair very dry and brittle. It didn't have time to go claggy. It went straight in the bin.

Someone bought me one a couple of christmases ago, I didn’t even try it, I don’t like soap bars for any purpose.
I know it’s to try and get away from plastic bottles but I’ll never use one for anything, I hate soap scum and slimy soap.

I don't use soap, just hand-wash in a plastic container but Mr.T insists on it. He doesn't use my upstairs bathroom thank goodness. I have a Dove bar which I occasionally use, but I must admit I only use water on my face or a wipe in the evenings on days I have used tinted moisturiser or mascara. I also have hand-wash downstairs but he won't use it, yet he will use shower gel.

Bought a small bar of shampoo soap but have only used it once. Didn't feel my hair was clean and felt dry. Back to normal shampoo for me.

MissT, about a year ago I read that wipes don't actually clean the skin. They can just move dirt around. You are better off using a gentle facial cleanser.
I don't use soap bars for anything...though I was momentarily tempted by shampoo bars.

I can remember childhood days when my hair frequently got washed with washing up liquid or whatever was available and salt for cleaning teeth!

MissT/You maybe saw the recent Ben Fogle programme on TV where he visited a couple living in the mountains of Bulgaria - the wife washed her hair at a stream ...with urine! Ugh!

I rarely use makeup Pasta, and only use tinted moisturiser on rare occasions, hence just water on my face. I've always had a good skin, but wipes just for mascara and the tinted moisturiser. Can't be bothered with facial cleaners. Basically, water does the trick. But always a moisturiser afterwards.

For a more serious answer though, this review page (from The Independent's website) claims any bars which "showed any sign of cracking or crumbling after use" were excluded from inclusion. So selecting from the ones shown might help to avoid any 'clagginess':
